Australian Truck Fleet Atlas
Registered truck counts by state, class, manufacture year, make and model, including a transparent replacement-pressure measure.
Explore the atlas →We turn fragmented official datasets into decision-grade truck, ute, caravan, equipment and finance analysis. Every published number carries its source, definition, reference period and limitations.

Each monitor keeps registered fleets, monthly market-entry activity, buyer type and finance demand as separate measures. Current releases cover trucks, utes, caravans and camper trailers.

Explore caravan data →These will be released only when the dataset and methodology support the claim. A chart is not evidence if its denominator is wrong.
Percentage of valid enquiries and requested dollars by asset, finance type, product, state and value band. It will be labelled as AFA demand—not Australian market share.
Read the publication rulesQuarterly ABS equipment, plant and machinery investment by industry and state, separated from finance-originations data.
Inspect the primary sourceMonthly customs value and quantity for selected trucks, excavators, forklifts, tractors and machinery using an audited HS-code register.
Inspect the primary sourceAsset finance decisions are usually discussed as a rate or repayment question. That is incomplete. A buyer also needs to understand the installed fleet, replacement cycle, availability of new assets, concentration by make and model, investment conditions and the difference between an enquiry, an approval and a settled transaction.
Australian source data is fragmented across federal departments, state registries, spreadsheets and industry subscriptions. The AFA Data Lab standardises only the fields that can be reconciled, publishes the calculation rules and refuses to fill missing dimensions with estimates. That makes the resulting charts useful for operators, accountants, dealers, journalists and researchers without turning a directional series into a false claim about market size.
Use fleet age and vehicle-entry trends to understand replacement context, then assess the actual asset age, body, seller, duty cycle, deposit, term and residual. A national trend cannot determine whether a particular truck is productive or financeable.
Charts and JSON downloads are designed for attribution. Cite AFA analysis and the underlying primary source, retain the reference period, and do not relabel registered vehicles as sales or requested finance as settled lending.
